Flash Fiction Friday - 6 December: Home

It's Friday and time for a flash. A group of awesome writers have one hundred words only and a given picture to inspire them.  So please show some love by following the link to each to read and leave a comment on their work. Each comment is greatly appreciated.
This week my contribution is called Home.

Flashers

He slipped wearily into the hot tub and after taking a sip placed a mug of hot chocolate on the side. Soothing warmth in the warm water released the stress and strain that had encapsulated Dale's sore muscles and he began to relax. Tipping his Stetson down over his face he closed his eyes and felt the tension drift from and over him with the water.

Dale suddenly felt two hands on his shoulders. They were not strong like his own but the massage was a welcome one.

“I've missed you Daddy. Mum let me wait up for you.”

  1. That's what the work and soreness is all about ~ the children and making life safe and secure for them. Loved this tender post, Naomi. Children rejuvenateour souls and give our lives purpose :) xo

  4. I felt the weariness of the man you described. hidden beneath your words are the author's own pain and wish to be in that hot tub, soothing her body's struggles.
