The Anniversary
Paul and Nina were close to their first wedding anniversary. The year had not been the happiest, fraught with problems and they had no extra money for celebrations or gifts. Yet despite everything, they remained extremely close.
On the day of their anniversary, Paul kissed Nina saying, “I have something for you.”
She opened the parcel he passed her and took out some cd’s. “Those will add to your collection. I sold my watercolours.”
Nina passed him a set of paintbrushes. “I sold my stereo to buy these.” She hugged Paul and said, “Cheer up; we’ll always have each other.”
