Grant jerked at his tie and pulled off the offending article shoving it in his jacket pocket.

“Mind if I join you?” he said to a slender woman in a cocktail dress who was perching jauntily on her bar stool.

 Her Chanel no 5 perfume intoxicated him.

“Be my guest,” replied the cool blonde idly indicating to the adjacent stool, but she seemed more interested in dallying an olive around  her Martini glass that sat on the bar in front of her. 

Grant watched her surreptitiously from the corner of his eye as she trailed the olive slowly around her pale pink lips, leaving them wet and glistening, before eating it. 

Noticing a stray droplet falling down onto her throat, Grant instinctively put out a finger, catching it.

“Mmm,” he murmured, sucking on his finger.

Twisting her stool, back to the bar Grant stood. Slipping an arm around he gently tipped her, his warm aroused breath dropping gently onto the head that now rested with long hair flowing behind on the bar.

He delivered the gentlest of butterfly kisses to hers and she smiled.

“I’ve loved you for so long. That Valentine kiss was everything I dreamed it would be.”

Kurt stood underneath the mistletoe that hung in their hallway and drew Sara closer to his body. His strong arms lifted her up to a a tiptoe position and with a hand gently tilted her head back.

Sara closed her eyes and felt the warmth of Kurt’s breath fall upon her eyelids. “I love you Kurt,”she whispered.

Moving closer her arms slipped around his waist and embraced Kurt's strength through his shirt.

Kurt bent his head a little and their noses bumped in nervous anticipation as the fist kiss had.

Sara felt whispering fingertips stroke her cheek . She held her breath as shivers thrilled her body, racing through her.  Sara pressed her body against Kurt’s, murmuring as she did.

Kurt’s lips touched Sara’s. Running his fingers through the strands of her hair he released the honeysuckle fragrance on it which drifted up his nose. He traced a line with the tip of his tongue around her lips before plating a kiss on them. “Happy Christmas baby, make a wish,” he said.

“I only have one wish,” she replied.

Kurt smiled. “Sara, you are so beautiful and I don’t need my sight to tell me.”

Christmas Blog Hop Flashers

Flames took hold and reduced the once beautifully decorated décor to a dinghy black mess. Screams sounded loud and clear with the ongoing commotion while people fought there way out of the building.

Cracking furniture with red hot sparks fell around her. Mercy coughed, but looking up a wave of relief swathed her whole body.

Covered in black sweat the burly fireman extinguished some flames and walked toward her through the smoke. He bent and hoisted her up with a strong arm into a fireman's lift.

“You're safe now,”he said. “Gotta save Mercy, with the best legs in town!”

Tantalizing Tuesday Summer Blog Hop 23 - 26 July: Sunbathing

The day felt hot and sticky. Clare had a cool shower then dressed in a thin dress. She turned a fan on to try and get cool but to no avail so thought as she had no garden she may as well sun herself by the window.

Clare hitched herself up on the edge of the bed and sat leaning back. The sun streamed through the open window and although the nets were a shield, she could still feel the fierce heat on her body.

She closed her eyes and thought of Darren. He was the latest employee where she worked. He was an old flame of hers and she still held a torch, but had a feeling he was avoiding her.

The cotton shift dress she was wearing rode right up exposing her legs. With bent knees, she lifted and parted them. Heat on her crotch aroused her. Clare moaned, wishing it were Darren between them again.

Suddenly, a breeze blew the nets aside. Realizing she was on show, Clare stood up panicking. A minute later, the phone rang and she answered.

“Hello?”

“Clare, it’s Darren. I live opposite you now and noticed you were in. Fancy some company?”

Captain Miles sat in his chair and looked over at his second in command. This was the first time Officer Willow had gone on a mission with him and he was pleased with their work.  He requested an up to date report. Willow immediately responded by pressing a few buttons and reporting the results.

“This area seems friendly, Captain. The air is good to breathe on the planet. Our estimated touchdown is in five minutes.”

“That’s pleasing to hear, Willow. Let us hope that is a true reading. We had better make sure of protection when exploring.

“Yes Captain.”

The landing however was a rocky one. “Hold on to your instruments,” shouted the captain. “Turn the main screen and speakers on, I want to see what this place is like.”

Officer Willow obeyed the order. Then twisting an earpiece said, “There is life there, and voices. Let me try to work out what is being said.”

Captain Miles spoke through a microphone. “We come in peace.”

A voice replied, “You are welcome. Come and join the celebrations."

  Miles hugged Willow. “Happy Birthday Sis.” He helped her out of the tree house. “Hurry up, we have a party to go to.”

“Why?” Emma lifted the mirror to her face and spoke at the reflection. “Why can’t I just say no for once?” She looked hard at herself. I don’t even look the part any more, she thought. My body has developed into something well, very feminine.

The phone rang and she put down the mirror before answering. The voice at the other end sounded rushed and quite sharp. It was Joe. “I thought you’d be here by now. Is there anything wrong?”

“Should there be?”

“You know I’m depending on you. Do you know what you have to wear?”

Emma turned and saw the clothes all laid out on her bed ready for her to change into. Her face dropped slightly as she wasn’t too happy about the get up.

Emma sighed, “No, don’t worry. I’ll be there in a few minutes. I’m just about to change, so I’ll be ready ” You are lucky I am doing this, she added in thought.

Emma had known Joe for years and always fancied the pants off him. She knew she could never refuse anything he asked of her.

“Please Joe,” she said. “Next year can I be something other than third shepherd?”

The Anniversary

Paul and Nina were close to their first wedding anniversary. The year had not been the happiest, fraught with problems and they had no extra money for celebrations or gifts. Yet despite everything, they remained extremely close.

On the day of their anniversary, Paul kissed Nina saying, “I have something for you.”

 She opened the parcel he passed her and took out some cd’s. “Those will add to your collection. I sold my watercolours.”

 Nina passed him a set of paintbrushes. “I sold my stereo to buy these.” She hugged Paul and said, “Cheer up; we’ll always have each other.”

This blog hop is based around Valentines Day so I'm making my post about Valentine Cards.

Be My Valentine

In the spirit of this time of the year, let me share some love with you.

But how did the tradition of sending Valentine’s Cards begin? Let me offer one theory.

Way back in medieval times, there was a belief that birds started mating on February 14.

Maybe birds have some kind of inbuilt calendar.

In 1415, Charles, Duke of Orleans wrote love letters to his wife during his stay in prison. It’s possible these were the first Valentine messages. Later, during 16^th century messages written on coloured paper, tinted with ink.  Verses were often in Acrostic form, spelling the lovers name. A bit different to Hallmark!

However upon searching I found a history lesson
