Carla flopped down into a chair, exhausted. She had given her best, danced until the blocks in her shoes had almost crushed her toes. Today meant so much.

After a car accident had injured her badly a year ago Carla thought she may have to give up her beloved hobby. She felt very unsure about her future.

Dancing however had been the spur and after several months of therapy put her ballet shoes on again. Today had been what all the months of rehearsal had been all about. Auditioning for Prima Ballerina. Now she had the dreaded waiting for results.

They lay together, unclothed. The soft fair hue of her skin against his handsome, bronzed figure.

She put arms around his neck and nibbled on his bottom lip. “I want you,” she purred.

He wrapped his arms around her and gently yet firmly drew her closer. With feather like touches fingertips from one hand traced her spine, grazing every ridge to the small of her back. Then fondled her soft butt cheek, parting it slightly from the other. He spoke no words, just murmured loving sounds, barely audible, into her neck that floated from his mouth and landed as whispers on her skin.

She shivered, arched her back and pressing up against him she moaned. Her nipples tangled with his disorderly array of springy chest hair that stroked his skin. The redness of her nipples deepened, dark against her ivory skin and becoming sensitive as they hardened.

Tingles raced through her body from fingertips to her toes that curled in spasm. Warmth inside her encouraged an accumulation of moisture that trickled from her pussy down her inner thigh. She ran her fingers through his short dark coarse hair, twisting the strands around them whispering, “I'm ready for you now.”

Saturday After Dark Moments - 14 September: Who Are You?

Saturday is the time to write an After Dark Moment 1-500 words inspired by a personally chosen picture. This week mine is called Who Are You? Enjoy

Gavin opened the door slightly and popped his head around to see if anyone else had not made it home. His head was pounding and he could barely see straight. Such were the prices paid for a student party and the one the one last night had been a big success.

On the floor a slender sultry woman lay sleeping. He did not remember her from the party; but then, his mind remained foggy after the intake of copious amounts of alcohol and hearing loud music, so she may well have been there.

Gavin's bleary eyes feasted on the woman that he felt instantly attracted to. The delicate elfin type face that was crowned by a mass of long dark hair that he longed to run fingers through. He admired her perfectly formed brows, and closed eyes with dark lashes that brushed the olive hue of her skin high cheekbones. Her nose, slender, unblemished and her lips, ah such sexy kissable lips, which were slightly parted, awakened a yearning that Gavin found difficult to suppress.

Following the line of her body Gavin's eyes widened all bleariness dissipating. The purple halter neck dress that she wore barely covered her breasts, straining over the soft curvature and held together with a silver clip at the apex, with naked flesh visible at her midriff.

Gavin couldn't bear to move his gaze elsewhere. He put a hand to a hardness that strained beneath his trousers and let out a stifled groan knowing he shouldn't be watching her like this.

She stirred as he watched, with half opened eyes as she lifted her arms. “Hello, hope you don't mind me crashing here.” She smiled sleepily. “Have you been there long?”

“Long enough. Who are you anyway?”

She beckoned to him. “Come closer and sit by me, and then I'll tell you.”

Tentatively taking steps across the purple shag carpet Gavin went and sat on the floor beside her. She turned toward him and propped herself up, leaning on one elbow. This revealed more of her plump breast which Gavin couldn't help but be drawn to.

“I'm Beth, and you're aroused. She put one of her fingers between her lips and sucked. Then ran the wet digit across the hard lump at his groin and before returning it back to her mouth.

“You're right, I am aroused,” he replied grinning and taking hold of her hand, putting the wet finger to his own lips and kissing it. Then leaning over her he planted a kiss on her lips.

Beth murmured, her body moving closer toward Gavin.

He put an arm around her. His hand sliding down to the small of her back and a leg went over her thigh. “First name is not enough. I want to know more,” Gavin whispered in her ear.

She looked up.

“Like the fact she's my sister?” A voice boomed from the doorway.

Patrick leaned back in the chair and sighed, wishing he hadn't agreed to this. His wife, however had accused him of going around like a bear with a sore head and he knew he had been overly judicious at the office. So much so to the point of his secretary making this appointment and insisting on him going.

Finally he agreed . Though he usually avoided the place like the plague. Yet sometimes he knew fear had to be faced head on. Suddenly a door opened and a woman indicated to him. “Mr Jones, the dentist will see you now.”

Heavy crimson velvet curtains with golden brocade brushed the wooden floorboards when they parted. Grace moved center stage, into the spotlight.

She stood, tall and slender, in her maxi length blue silk dress that clung so elegantly to her curves. Grace's long dark hair tumbled over her sleek pale shoulders. Nobody saw the sadness in her eyes. She nodded to her pianist.

Grace lifted the flute, held it at the side of her face and positioned her fingers.

Grace bowed slightly, poised, listening intently while the Steinway struck up a few bars of gentle introduction. Then at the appropriate place, stood straight, flinging her hair back and with lips pursed, delivered her first silvery notes.

With eyes closed, Grace seemed in a world of her own. Her fingers flew up and down the flute, barely touching the keys. She knew her pieces off by heart never playing a note wrong.

When Grace finished playing, the lights went up to rapturous applause. Grace bowed, gathering flowers that were strewn across the stage and was also also presented with a huge bouquet.

Yet noticing the empty chair she thought, I played my best for you tonight sweetheart. If only you had heard me.

The house seemed so quiet to Kelly now. She sat crouched on the floor with head resting in her hands, thinking she should get moving.

Kelly had cared for her Father all through his illness, with no help from her sister. She remembered the crocodile tears Amanda had shed at the funeral and her audacity in hanging around hoping for rich pickings.

However it was Kelly who had discovered her Father's bankruptcy and realized she had to ready herself for a new chapter in life. Sadly she had put her belongings into storage.

The house auction was due to start.

Phoebe lay face down, naked and outstretched on her bed, with her head buried deeply into a pillow. Finally having achieved slumber, she fell quiet.

The night, had a full moon that radiated on a dark, crystal studded backdrop. Cool moonbeams silently fell onto Phoebe. They glanced the soft alabaster flesh of her well proportioned curves.

Phoebe's long ebony hair, with a sheen highlighted by the moon, fell over her tear-stained cheeks. Such were the tell-tale signs of how Phoebe had cried earlier; her heart broken.

Whispering zephyrs drifted through the open window and shadows floated around.
The night seemed peaceful. Nevertheless, disturbed dreams caused Phoebe to awaken.

She moved position in the bed; her arm reaching out to the side where Carl had once lain. Her hand trailed along the sheet, with fingers mentally outlining his form. Her eyes welled up with tears once more remembering that he was gone.

Phoebe let out huge gut-wrenching sobs as she sat up in bed, clutching a pillow to her stomach. She remembered sadly when Carl, in so much pain, watched the moon with her before closing his eyes for one final time. Phoebe looked to the moon once more for comfort.

Guest Interview - 2 September: SJ Maylee

Today I have great pleasure in hosting SJ Maylee. She is a good friend and excellent writer.
So, SJ. Tell us a bit about yourself and your writing.

Thanks.

S.J. MAYLEE BIO:

S. J. Maylee fell in love with storytelling at a young age and with it came a deep-seated desire for everyone to find their happily ever after. She’s finding the happy endings for her characters one steamy story at a time.

When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her caring for her garden, laughing with her two young sons, or dancing to her husband’s music. She’s a PMP (Project Management Professional), Nia instructor, and coffee addict.

As a writer she has a tendency to break hearts, but she always glues them back together.

Here's where you'll find her

 Blog

I’m the writer that likes her stories fast and sizzling. I despise scenes that slow the story. If a scene’s not moving my characters towards a decision, it’s going to get cut. This is one of the reasons I’m a fan of the novella length. TAKING CHANCES is just about 100 pages. It just keeps moving.

I also love sexual tension. Even if my characters aren’t getting it on in chapter one, I’m not going to make you wait for the heat. I write erotic romance. I’ll show you my characters falling in love, and I’ll make sure you don’t miss the hot things that happen along the way.
In a nutshell,, that’s SJ’s writing. Hot and Fast.
Tell us a bit more about ‘Taking Chances’.

 BLURB:

Lydia’s father walked away from her when she was eight. She’s struggled to not let him affect her, but fears she wasn’t loveable enough to make him stay. Jake wants to love one woman, but after scaring the last woman he met outside of the club, he doubts he has the right. She protects her heart by sticking with her fantasies, and he lives by a set of rules that excludes women who choose a vanilla lifestyle.

The two will be kept in a conference room working together until their special project is complete. If Lydia and Jake hold tight to their bland lives, they’ll always yearn for love that is out of reach. But together they can find common ground, passion, and a reason to take chances. Once they discover the grand possibilities of the love they desire, they find themselves in the very place they tried never to be again, facing unguaranteed love.

 EXCERPT:

“Come on in, Lydia. I want to talk about a few things before we get started today. We need to make it quick, since we need to report to Keller at ten this morning.” When she remained in her spot he added, “Lydia, come here.”

Not wanting Gina to take anything further from her, she lifted her head and walked to Jake. She stopped at his desk, but felt instantly unworthy. Gina was more Jake’s style. She fought the need to lower her chin.
“Look at me, Lydia.”

He pushed her. “Why?” She shifted her gaze and hit him with her direct stare.

“Thank you. I needed to see your eyes.” He reached out and swiped a lock of hair from her face. He tucked the strand behind her ear, and let his finger drag down her face to her shoulder. All the while his gaze captured hers, not letting go. “How are you this morning?”

“I’m okay.”

“Okay? Hmm, maybe I should do something to improve your mood? What would you say to that?”

“Here?” she gasped and quickly turned to look out the door.

He grabbed hold of her shoulders, lifting her slightly off the floor.

“Yes, here.” He brought their bodies together, claimed her lips and swept his tongue through her mouth, awakening her sexual hunger.

She felt wanted. She felt claimed. Images from the night before swam in her mind. Silly challenges from the office mean girl were all forgotten. He set her down and nipped at her lower lip.

“We have a lot to do today. Unfortunately we cannot go any further, now.” He stepped back behind his desk as casually as if he’d just greeted the mail man.

“But you would want to?” Still looking at the papers on his desk, she didn’t think he heard her. She took a step closer. “You would repeat last night?”

Her words stopped him. His gaze searched her face. Placing his hands on the desk he leaned forward and said, “Lydia, I fully intend to further explore your body and mind. After all, there are a few places I haven’t yet completely inspected.”

Her mind ran through what he had done to her last night, and there was only one place she could think of. Warmth fluttered through her face.

“Now, that is a beautiful sight.” He returned to his papers. “I’m going to have to keep thinking of ways to shock you simply to see you blush again.” With the papers properly sorted, his attention returned to her. “Is Gina a problem?”

Gina was a lot of things, but she’d never thought of her as a problem. “I don’t think so.”

“Don’t be afraid to put her in her place. She likes that more than she lets on. She’s the type to push so she can be pushed back.”

“I hadn’t thought of her that way. Interesting.”

“Let me know if she becomes a problem.” His gaze drilled into hers, not letting her escape.
“Okay.”

“Okay?” His posture remained controlled, but the smirk couldn’t be missed.

She added her own version of the devilish grin, which ignited another blush before she even spoke. “Okay, Sir.”

“Trouble.” He stalked towards her and ruthlessly swept his hand under the hem of her skirt to press firmly along her panties. His lips pressed to her ear. “Hot and damp.”

The palm of his hand pressed on her clit, and he bent his knuckles, sending the tips of his fingers past the edge of her panties to drag along her slit.

“Be careful what you say to me, sweetheart, or you’ll shatter my control.” With one last drag of his fingers, he pulled away and walked from the room.

She turned around and watched him go. Her heart pounded. All she could do was follow him, but she couldn’t move. The exchange with Jake left her bones unsettled, and the all too familiar ache tried to set-up shop in her chest. She hadn’t expected him to crave more from her, and now she couldn’t deny he did. Was she going to deny herself the pleasure of getting to know him?
