Outside,
the sun beat down from a cloudless sky with a fierce heat. Tina stood
and looked up, shielding her eyes with her hand. Tall, dressed in
short shorts and open white shirt, she had long, tanned legs, beneath her shirt the promise of a large bust
and shoulder length wavy auburn hair. Tina felt tired and hot sticky,
and her hair stuck to her head with the heat of the sun together with
the effort of shifting all manner of boxes as she moved in.
“Whew,”
she said, downing a few glugs of water from the bottle. Trickles of
perspiration trickled down inside her shirt. Replacing the lid she
held the bottle against her forehead and ran it down one cheek to try
and achieve a little coolness from the ice cold bottle. Looking up
she became aware of someone's eyes watching her.
In view of the lovely description of Tina, I'm not at all surprised to find someone's eyes on her!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comment Peter
DeleteUh oh, a girl just can't move without attracting attention! Though it sounds like she attracts attention wherever she goes :-D

DeleteNoisy neighbor???
ReplyDeleteAt the moment yes, thanks for your comment Dani
DeleteIt's always the way - when you are looking your worst, along someone comes. It sounds as though being hot and sticky would not deter this person, however. Looking forward to reading more.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel
DeleteEven though she might be a bit sweaty, sounds like someone's getting an eyeful!
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. Thanks for the comment Christina
DeletePeter voiced my reaction to this passage even better than I could've done.

DeleteOoh, I had just come indoors from a hot day and totally commiserated with poor Tina...and then that last line! Who's watching...and why?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment :)
DeleteShe's just trying to cool off, but she's making someone else hot! Tweeted.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right,Daryl. Thanks for the comment
DeleteSounds like a Texas summer! Maybe whoever is watching will help her with the boxes so she can get out of the sun...
ReplyDeleteMaybe. Thanks for dropping by Caitlin
