 My offering this week is from my WIP The Locket. Here, Jake, away from home at a works conference, wakes up in a hotel bed with a secretary Sonia. Enjoy

Jake awoke with a sudden start in his hotel room to the sound of his phone ringing, but couldn't remember where he'd put it, so unfortunately it rang off. He shrugged, and lying back, looking down at his nakedness plus the evidence of clothes strewn about the floor, the realization of earlier bedroom antics hit Jake. He turned, on the very crumpled sheets, leaned up on one elbow and gazed upon the equally naked woman who had just awoken, laying in the bed next to him.

Reaching over to her, he gently lifted a stray lock of her tousled blond hair from in front of her eyes and brushed it away from her face. "There, that's better," he said.

"Thank you,"she smiled, then puckered her full, pink lips and blew him a kiss.


Jake ran gentle fingertips down her arm and blew a kiss in return. "You're beautiful, and I'm a naughty boy."

    OoooooOh! I totally wasn't expecting the scene to end up on this playful tone. A nice surprise . . . as apparently it is for both of them.
