Jake grinned, moving closer to Sonia and wrapping both arms around her body. He rolled her over onto her back, his arms and legs either side of hers. ""You're a very bad influence on me, I could stay here all day with you." He leaned down and kissed her lips. "But I've just remembered it's the final day of this conference, and we'll both be missed tonight at the dinner. Also, won't your manager be missing you?"

"I don't fancy her, I fancy you. But you're right, we should get up now."

Jake searched around for his phone and looked at the call log. "Fuck, my wife tried to call me!"

My offering this week is from my WIP The Locket. Here, Jake, away from home at a works conference, wakes up in a hotel bed with a secretary Sonia. Enjoy

Jake awoke with a sudden start in his hotel room to the sound of his phone ringing, but couldn't remember where he'd put it, so unfortunately it rang off. He shrugged, and lying back, looking down at his nakedness plus the evidence of clothes strewn about the floor, the realization of earlier bedroom antics hit Jake. He turned, on the very crumpled sheets, leaned up on one elbow and gazed upon the equally naked woman who had just awoken, laying in the bed next to him.

Reaching over to her, he gently lifted a stray lock of her tousled blond hair from in front of her eyes and brushed it away from her face. "There, that's better," he said.

"Thank you,"she smiled, then puckered her full, pink lips and blew him a kiss.

Jake ran gentle fingertips down her arm and blew a kiss in return. "You're beautiful, and I'm a naughty boy."

An uncomfortable silence filled the room and surrounded them for what seemed like an age. Then George shifted in his chair a bit and his low tones cut the air.

Listen Beth, I appreciate you coming to see me so much and to ask for advice. I've always been fond of you, and as for your husband, that son of mine, I've loved him since the moment he was born. Always have, always will, despite everything.

Why don't I make us some coffee, we'll think this through rationally and try and make sense of the situation. After all, you don't want to go home tearful, and breathing alcohol over Chloe. Where is she right now?

Beth glanced at the clock over the mantel. “She's at a friend's house this afternoon. Yes, Ihave time for a coffee before I go, thank you for your kindness and understanding.”

George noticed the change in expression on Beth's face at the mention of Jake's name again. Her smile disappeared and the sad face returned.

Do you feel able to tell me more about how Jake has upset you,?” George felt slightly anxious and didn't want to upset Beth further. He really felt for his daughter in law's upset..

I love Jake so much, don't get me wrong, your son is a wonderful husband and father, he means the world to me."she said. "Recently, however, the way he has become distant has troubled me. And then, this latest occurrence threw me and made me feel cold to my very core. Beth paused, and took another sip of her drink. Usually, when he has to go away, he phones me from his hotel room. This time, however, he didn't, so I phoned him, I knew the hotel and room number, but a woman answered."

George sighed, and sank heavily into a chair opposite Beth. He shook his head slowly, scratched it, however his few remaining white hairs barely moved. Finally, he said, “She looks lovely. Oh Jake, Jake, you're my son and I feel so responsible for our rift. Why didn't we put our differences behind us? I hope it's not too late.” Then he smiled up at Beth who seemed to be searching in her purse for something.

She handed him a two small pictures of her daughter. “Here, you can keep these, and I will bring Chloe here to meet you very soon.”

That would be wonderful, thank you, but pick your time wisely, don't upset Jake.”

George bent down as quick as his aching knees let him, and picked up the photograph. “What a pretty little girl,” he said, handing it back to Beth. “She has a twinkle in her eye that reminds me so much of Grace.

Beth smiled down with affection at the picture. “Thank you, yes she is very pretty, and such a sweet child. Her name is Chloe, and she's just three years old. She's your Grandaughter.”

George, doing a quick mental calculation said, “That would mean ...”

Yes, you're right, I was pregnant at the funeral, but Jake wouldn't let me tell you, no matter how much I wanted to.”

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors, the weekly hop for everyone who loves to write! Every Sunday wonderful authors post eight to ten  sentences of their work. George realized that Beth had rallied up a lot of courage to come and see him and speak so openly to him about her worries. After all, he hadn't spoken to Jake for about three years, ever since their big argument. He remembered though, that his wife, Grace, just before she died, had made him promise to make up with him. She'd have known what to say to Beth and how to cope with her son. He missed his wife so much.

After retrieving a small bottle of brandy from a cupboard, George poured a small amount into a glass. “I keep a bottle in for medicinal purposes,” he explained. “I thought you could use a drop.”

As Beth said thank you, and reached to take the glass from him, however, her purse dropped from her lap and fell open. A photograph of a small girl with curly hair fell out of it.

George offered Beth one of the big winged chairs in his lounge to sit on. Then he sat down in a chair opposite, saying, “When you're ready, there's no hurry.” He gave her hand a gentle, reassuring pat, then sat silent. Time had taught him to let people speak in their own time when something was up. Finally, after wiping a few silent tears away, Beth looked up at George, took a breath and through shaky words, began to speak.

Thank you for seeing me, after all it's been so long, and first of all let me apologize on Jake's behalf for what happened at Grace's funeral.”

George nodded slowly, then smiled and thanked her.

I know you two haven't spoken for a while, but Jake's been acting strange lately, and we're usually very close. I think he's having an affair.”

This week I have another snippet from my WIP The Locket. While Jake is away at his conference, his widowed father has an unexpected visitor.

George shuffled, heavy footed in his worn out old slippers to the front door. On the doorstep, stood a woman in her latter twenties, of medium height, with soft dark curls that tumbled down over the shoulders of her white Macintosh. George recognized her immediately as Beth, the wife of his son, Jake. He could tell something was wrong, however; the usual sparkling blue eyes seemed to be fighting back tears, and her full pink lips had a tremble in them.

Hello George,” she finally managed to mumble. I hope you don’t mind me calling unannounced. I didn't know who else to turn to”

“Well, I must admit, you're the last person I expected to see, but you had better come in." He smiled and ushered Beth inside.

Sonia glanced down at his legs briefly, then kicked off her stilettos and shed her coat, letting it drop to the floor, where it swished to a halt in a heap around her slim ankles. This revealed the rest of her black basque, and lacy top black fish net stockings.

She lost any upper hand from then on, however as his eyes held her, rooted to the spot. She felt Jake's eyes almost burn her, as his gaze moved slowly, drinking in her body. Beginning at her toes, he journeyed upward, along her stocking adorned legs, up to the lacy tops and where he paused momentarily at her hips, murmuring soft coos of approval searched for panties and saw none. She tried to move forward as he continued up, but his gaze held her. Sonia's hands though went behind her, almost grasping the wall. Her heaving breasts strained beneath the tight constraints of the corset, and Sonia shook her hair, the long locks tumbling down onto them, meeting with Jake's eyes. Beads of perspiration appeared on her forehead, and, looking down Sonia felt happy at the sight of Jake's straining lump at his groin.

Outside, the sun beat down from a cloudless sky with a fierce heat. Tina stood and looked up, shielding her eyes with her hand. Tall, dressed in short shorts and open white shirt, she had long, tanned legs, beneath her shirt the promise of  a large bust and shoulder length wavy auburn hair. Tina felt tired and hot sticky, and her hair stuck to her head with the heat of the sun together with the effort of shifting all manner of boxes as she moved in.

Whew,” she said, downing a few glugs of water from the bottle. Trickles of perspiration trickled down inside her shirt. Replacing the lid she held the bottle against her forehead and ran it down one cheek to try and achieve a little coolness from the ice cold bottle. Looking up she became aware of someone's eyes watching her.

Judy giggled as she heard Linda's voice behind her and felt a tap on her shoulder. She stopped swaying to the music, turned swiftly to see Linda pouring generous amounts of brandy into two beautiful cut glass glasses.

I was enjoying watching you,” Linda said, putting the bottle on a side table and handing Judy a glass. “I'll keep the bottle here, just in case,.” she winked. “There. Take a glug of that and tell me what you think. Forget the World outside.”

She caught hold of Judy and slipped an arm around her waist. “Come over here babe, let's sit by

what's left of the fire and relax with our drinks.”

My excerpt this week is from a WIP New Beginnings. Josie, who is trying to rebuild her life after a split with her husband, has met up with best friend Sandra, for a drink.

"Here you go, babe." Sandra put the round tray down, and placed two large glasses of white wine on the table. Sitting down, crossed legged, Sandra's skirt rode up slightly, allowing her long slender legs to become visible. This immediately attracted attention, but Sandra pretended not to notice the occasional sideways glances that were shot in her direction.

You're incorrigible Sandra,” Josie giggled.

Sandra winked, and with a wicked grin, crossed them even further, displaying more of her legs. She pushed a wine glass toward Josie, picked up her own and laughed as she chinked it against her friend's. " Here's mud in your eye."

"And yours," Josie responded, simultaneously, taking a gulp.

"So, what couldn't wait? Come on Josie, the suspense is killing me."
