Flash Fiction Friday - 30 November: Sorry

Well, it's Friday again and time for another flash. Flash fiction of course and I love it. A group of talented writers has a given picture and one hundred words, no more, no less. Each comes up with their own version, so, show some love and click the link to find the others. Each deserves a comment. This week mine is called Sorry. Enjoy
Flashers

“I’m so sorry.” Maria peered over the edge and watched the lithe bronzed topless man in jeans struggling to climb back up the cliff. “I really didn’t mean to …” her voice tailed away and was lost in the crashing of waves against rocks.

Vince looked up, the exertion on his face very apparent as he hauled himself over the rocks. She could see the sweat rolling down his back as she grabbed his hand and helped him stand.

“I found it honey,” he said between panting breaths, handing a camera over. “We don’t want anyone discovering those ‘special pictures’.”

  6. Naomi, you done good, I smiled through all 100 words. The opening lines were a perfect set-up and then the conclusion was just spot-on perfect. I'm like Bonni, I'm assuming those special pictures were indeed XXXXXX rated. However, if I was him, I might have been tempted to make her go get that camera. Muwah!!@

  7. I like that! Wasn't expecting the end at all and it was a nice touch, a lovely man trying to save their modesty with an act of bravery!

  8. Bravo, Naomi. A perfect piece of flash fiction - toys with us as to the possibilities and then delivers its naughty twist with a beautifully judged flourish. Nice one.

  9. I was caught on the first few words Naomi. I loved how he went and retrieved the camera as many would have said no way. But with these "special pictures" I can see why they didn't want the camera to land in the wrong hands. ;-) Very spicy and I wonder what happens now that he has the camera and I'm sure she's red with embarrassment of dropping the camera. Awesome Flash! :)
