Weeekend Writing Warriors ~ 4 February 2018: The Locket

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors, the weekly hop for everyone who loves to write! I've returned after a break from writing. Every Sunday wonderful authors post eight to ten  sentences of their work. Please show some love by following the links and reading. Comments are always appreciated.

My offering this week is from my WIP The Locket. It carries on from last week, with Jake away from home with work, ends up in a hotel bed with a secretary Sonia. Enjoy.

Jake grinned, moving closer to Sonia and wrapping both arms around her body. He rolled her over onto her back, his arms and legs either side of hers. ""You're a very bad influence on me, I could stay here all day with you." He leaned down and kissed her lips. "But I've just remembered it's the final day of this conference, and we'll both be missed tonight at the dinner. Also, won't your manager be missing you?"

"I don't fancy her, I fancy you. But you're right, we should get up now."

Jake searched around for his phone and looked at the call log. "Fuck, my wife tried to call me!"

  1. Hmmm. Wonder what excuse he'll come up with for missing her call? And if this happens to him a lot?
