Thursday Tasters - 20 March: Beauty's Beast

It's Thursday and time for some awesome writers to give a short taster of their amazing work. It can be a WIP or completed work. So please show some love and leave a comment on their work. It helps and encourages each writer. This week's excerpt is from my WIP Beauty's Beast. A naughty fairytale Enjoy

Tasters

The butler spoke again however, ruining her train of thought. “The Master is waiting.” He pointed to a room.

Rosie entered the room to which he indicated at, that had a partially opened door, as if awaiting her arrival. She looked around admiring the room. Dark oak panels gave the room a regal feel, and purple brocade velvet curtains were tied back at the tall windows. A large, patterned rug lay in the centre of the room. At the far end was a wooden mantle, but no fire was lit. Here, a man in a dark suit stood silent, with hands behind his body and legs slightly apart, looking into a mirror.

The man was at least six foot, broad shouldered and the suit fitted his medium proportions excellently. Rosie’s main observation about him that excited her, even though she could only see him from the rear was the beautiful dark brown coloured shaven head. She longed for him to turn around, so she could see his face.

Suddenly the man spoke words in rich chocolate deep tones that seemed to trickle through Rosie and made her wobble slightly. But he did not turn around which infuriated her.

“Sit down Rosie, and tell me what you are doing here.”

  2. I agree with Don, the mystery really caught my attention. It dragged me in and didn't want to let go.

I did notice you used 'room' frequently at the beginning.

Thank you so much for sharing.

  3. Your use of descriptive words and imagery is wonderful. The butler, the foyer, the library like 'room' with Persian rug, ornate mantle and his arrogance was beautifully charming. Why WAS she there? Was she caught trespassing, snooping or had she been there before and came back for more? If so, more of what? Great Taster and cliffhanger. Loved this and can't wait to read the rest. xo

  5. Lush setting and a dark mysterious stranger to match. Great telling of a grown-up fairy tale with all the sexy trappings. Continuing to like this a lot.
